Ok, so if all of the above apply, read on....

We have a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical design engineer to join an established business in Leicestershire. Now this company have got solid, long term relationships with some big names, and they need someone that will continue delivering the service they’re renowned for.

So whats the job?

We need someone thats got a solid background in mechanical engineering as you will be responsible for the end to end process of each project. This means -

Meeting customers to understand their needs

Creating a solution

Designing that solution & presenting it back to the customer

Liaising with manufacturing to ensure timely completion

Overseeing installation for the client

Now as an an experienced engineer, you’ll know that there’s a lot more that goes on in between the stages, tight deadlines, calculations, cost, tweaking designs, communication with various departments, the list goes on. However the most important thing is delivery, on time & to perfection!

So who are you?

You’ll need to have a solid track record, be an expert in the use of solid works & be a natural with customers. You’ll be comfortable working with one off bespoke pieces as well as larger projects. Some may be straightforward small designs, others more complex which is where your concept design kicks in.

Everything you design will be used in a manufacturing facility, so it’s important you’ve had design experience within the industry. You’ll have knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as turning, milling & fabrication & if you have an understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics & electrical systems, even better!

Now if you’re looking for a company that work with large automated processes, this isn’t the job for you. This company are about detail & service, they use traditional processes due to their customers needs - and it works. Really well. They’re growing rapidly, their order books are full & they need someone that wants to be part of the journey.

You’ll have a creative & logical approach to problem solving, be able to demonstrate competency in structural calculations & have the best time management skills. Most importantly you’ll be a team player!
